Apples Apple Valley Orchard:  Take home a bushel or a peck of your choice from over 15 varieties of apples harvested from mid-August until early November.  Follow your nose to the bakery where you will find fried apple pies and stack cakes or enjoy a cup of cider or a cider slushie.  423-472-3044.

Artist's Alcove - This gallery of works produced by regional craftsmen is located on the Historic Courthouse Square in downtown Athens. Convenient to both I-75 and the Cherokee National Forest. The gallery owner, Shane Lowe, invites you to view the featured work of Allen Hampton who is both an accomplished potter and metal smith.

Athens / McMinn County Living Heritage Museum
Three floors with 30 permanent exhibit areas trace the history of McMinn County, from the Cherokee through the 1940s. Special events and classes throughout the year, including an annual quilt show. Gift shop. 423-745-0329.

Benton's Country Hams:  Benton's relies on the age-old principles of brown sugar, salt and a lot of time to cure their hams.  Enjoy the aroma hickory smoke while selecting ham, bacon, or sausage made the old way.  423-442-5003

Basketmaker Coker Creek Crafts Gallery:  Both traditional and contemporary high quality crafts and art can be found in this mountain gallery. Tucked into the Cherokee National Forest, just off Hwy. 68 at Coker Creek, this gallery is an unexpected delight. Gallery owners Kenneth and Kathleen Dalton are world-renowned weavers and basketmakers. Contact them online.

Weave shop and local crafts can be found inside the Coker Creek Village Store. Gold panning lessons are offered as well as a gem mining table. The creek in front is a favorite spot for gold panners. Horseback riding, hayrides, bunkhouses, camping and more. Groups welcome.

Craft House:  This cozy craft shop is located on the outskirts of Benton, Tn.  and offers a selection of locally made craft items including a large assortment of bird houses by craftsman Hoyt Link.  Owner, Bonita Graham does decorative floral arrangements.  423-338-5672

Ducktown Basin Museum Gift Shop:  An excellent place to pick up locally made, hand crafted items made exclusively of copper.  Here you will find everything from the traditional copper bracelet to the more exotic copper fly rod holder.  Open daily except Sundays.  423-496-5778.

Englewood Company Store:  A charming country store full of antiques found within the Tennessee  Overhill, as well as handmade items from local craftsmen.  Located next door to the Englewood Textile Museum.  423-887-5455.

Hagemeyer Honey & Bee Pollen:  Receive health from the hive at Hagemeyer Honey and Bee Pollen.  423-442-2038.

Hand Hewn Bowls:  Visit the homepage of Rip & Tammi Mannn who practice one of the rarest of traditional handcrafts.  Hand Hewn Bowls offers a variety of  entirely hand made, fine wood, tableware.  A tour of their home/studio is available by appointment.  423-496-5116.

Mayfield Dairy Visitor Center:  Get the scoop on the history of Mayfield Dairy through a film presentation followed by a plant tour that includes how popsicles are made.  Stop by the ice cream parlor for a dip of delicious ice cream.  423-745-2151

Morris Vineyard:  According to Southern Living magazine, "Largest pick-your-own in the U.S.".  Eat as many grapes as you want while picking a bucket full to take home.  423-479-7311

Mouse Creek Nursery:  Browse through a half dozen greenhouses offering over 600 varieties of perennials, unusual annuals, and garden products.  In the back is an unexpected surprise...a restored 1845 Methodist Episcopal Church.  Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.  423-462-2666.

Ocoee Craft Mall - This gallery of country craft, located near the Ocoee River on Hwy 411, is owned by doll- maker, Linda Patterson. Locally made craft items include quilts, children's clothes, furniture, dolls & jewelry.  This gallery also hosts a year-round Christmas Shop.  423-338-3907.

Orr Mountain Winery:  Follow the fruit from the fields to the winery and see the process of turning great grapes into fine wines.  Taste several varieties and take home your favorite.  423-442-5340

Blacksmith Reliance Forge:  Primitive, working, blacksmith's forge and metal craft shop located in Reliance, Tennessee.  Come and watch the blacksmith, Dan Whitlock, at work.

Sequoyah Birthplace Museum Gift Shop:  Excellent source of Cherokee Crafts.  This is the only Native American-operated historical attraction in the state of Tennessee.  Open year round except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.  423-884-6246

Scott Street Studio/Gallery:  Combination studio and gallery featuring work by artists Sheila Sanford Holbo, and John Holbo.  Here you will find original paintings, wood carving and photograph spotlighting the natural wonder of the Tennessee Overhill.  423-253-7677

Sunshine Hollow:  Sample homemade fruit cakes, candies, and jellies in a family-owned bakery located on Hwy 11 just south of Athens in Riceville, Tennessee. Visit from May-July and in addition to good food you will enjoy splendid hosta and daylily gardens. 423-745-4289.

Tellico Plains Arts Center - Located downtown, near the Cherohala Skyway, the gallery features regional artists and craftsmen.

Webb Brothers' General Store:  Wind alongside the Hiwassee River on Hwy 30 until you reach Reliance bridge where you can purchase refreshments, memorabilia and  mail a letter at the post office-all under one roof.
