Autumn Color Paddle Tour

Autumn Color Paddle Tour – Saturday, Nov. 4 at Fort Loudoun State Park (9:00am to 12:30pm).

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times to paddle in East Tennessee.  Join Rangers for this final guided paddle trip of the season as we go around the Great Island, approximately 3 miles over 2.5 hours, and see stunning views of Tellico Lake and Fort Loudoun State Park.  Hear stories of the Cherokee people who once called this place the Overhills, look out for wildlife, and enjoy the day.

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Kayaks and kayak equipment are available for those who do not have their own; anyone with their own kayak and equipment are welcome to bring it. Space is limited to 15 so be sure to reserve your spot.  Arrive 30 minutes beforehand to ensure equipment and boats are ready to depart. Cost for renting a kayak and equipment is $20 and anyone bringing their own equipment is $10.

Although this kayak trip is rated easy, keep in mind it requires endurance and fitness, especially in your upper body. Be sure to bring water and dress for the weather. Please dress accordingly by wearing warm, waterproof/water resistant clothing. This tour will occur rain or shine. Also, be prepared for boat traffic, waves, and wind. Please contact the park office for more details.  423-420-2331
