Hike Along the Ocoee River

Hike Along the Ocoee River – Thursday, Jan. 18 at Hiwassee/Ocoee State Park (10:00am to 12:00pm).  423-263-0050

Join Park Rangers for a hike along the Ocoee River. We will meet at Thunder Rock campground trailhead parking off of highway 64. From there we will hike approximate 2.5-3 miles out and back along the Rhododendron Trail. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring along some water. Be sure and check the weather to see if you need to layer up clothing.  This trail is rated as easy and is flat. Rangers will share with you the history of the Ocoee River and how it is one of the most popular whitewater rivers in the country. Registration is required for this hike and spots are limited.  This is a free event, but donations are accepted.
